Xbox Glitch Sees Players Being Asked To Update All Of Their Games
If you’ve turned on your Xbox console today and found that tens, if not hundreds of games need to be updated, you’re not alone! We’ve seen a wave of reports about this over the past few hours, but the good news is that it’s just a glitch.
Lots of people have been taking to social media to report this issue, many of them questioning whether they should actually hit the “Update” button or not. You can see some examples of the problem in the Reddit posts down below:
In response, Xbox owners have been sharing their tips for getting rid of the updates, the main one being a full restart by holding the guide button on your Xbox controller and then going to “restart console”.
Alternatively, some people are saying that when they hit the “update” button, all of the updates complete pretty much instantly and the games work as normal. We’d still recommend restarting your console as a first port of call though.
The belief is that this is related to a server glitch on Microsoft’s end, and it’s not affecting everyone by any means (we haven’t come across it here at Pure Xbox HQ). Hopefully it’ll be gone for good over the next few hours!
